Auden grew up in Bellevue, Washington, a suburb of Seattle. In elementary school, he grew a passion to play the tuba, so when the time came in 5th grade, he chose the closest he could get: the euphonium. He started taking lessons on euphonium in 6th grade, and shortly after, Auden picked up a trombone so he could play in the middle school jazz band. In 7th grade, he switched to a more rigorous euphoinum teacher named Kadie Nichols, a euphonium and classical trombone player from Seattle. Around the same time, Auden started studying with the jazz trombonist Bill Anthony, who spent a period of time in LA studying with JJ Johnson. He studied with both of them until he graduated high school, and kept lots of my euphonium technique with him when he started focusing more on jazz and the trombone. Auden applied and got accepted to Berklee College of Music in 2016, majoring in Trombone Performance.

At Berklee Auden began to further pursue his career as a jazz trombonist, and decided to put the euph down once he got to Berklee. Since arriving, Auden has played in countless recording sessions, recitals, and shows as a sideman. With genres varying from big band swing, to contemporary post-bop, to fusion, to hip hop, to classical, Auden prides himself on his adaptability and his commercial reading skills. Auden is currently in the process of writing songs to prepare for an album to be released a year or two after graduation. Additionally, Auden plans to attend graduate Berklee and later become a trombone professor.
